This weeks assignment is to read this article written by Michael Horn for the Forbes website:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelhorn/2014/03/25/busan-schools-flip-koreas-society-classrooms/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
You should also watch the first 2 parts of the KBS documentary:
http://edufor21.kbs.co.kr/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
After doing these two things I want you to make a blog post about the article/documentary.

Please include the following discussion points in your post:

1. How did you feel after reading/watching the materials?
A: I am very sympathetic. And I thought of my school days. It was very difficult to listen to teacher-centered lectures in some subjects during my school days.
And even if it is not 100% perfect, I hope to change the classroom into student-centered learning as soon as possible.

2. What are some of the pros you see with using a flipped classroom?
A: he advantages of a flipped classroom are student-centered learning and the participation of all students in the classroom.
I think that true education should be practiced in school, and I think that the starting point of true education begins with every student participating in the class. In that respect, this class seems to be very groundbreaking.

3. What are some of the cons you see with using a flipped classroom?
A: The disadvantages of a flipped classroom are that it takes a lot of work and time. Most importantly, IT is exposed to children who grow up.

(In-depth coverage)

4. Have you ever been a student in a flipped classroom?
A; My daughter is currently attending an alternative school. The school's system is similar to this school. However, there is a slight difference. My daughter learns and studies all subjects on her own. And the teacher checks individually. Students do not share what they have learned through activities. Therefore, there is a bigger difference between individual and subject.
It seems to be an example of wrong application.

5. Would you use the idea of the flipped classroom to teach your students?
A: It is well worth it. I will give students a learning initiative. And I will focus on individual instruction or development learning to the extent of student learning. I will give the classroom to students.

6. How do you think Korean society would react to the flipped classroom becoming standard across Korea?
A; The Republic of Korea is one of the later IT developments. Especially, it can be said that it is global in terms of Internet penetration and speed. So, the technical infrastructure is already ready. And When thinking about the creativity and adaptability of Koreans, Korea will be the most successful country in the world in a  flipped classroom.

We watched the classroom in the cloud in class. Here is the website that explains a little more about the project:

Please comment on the above link and the Ted Talk video:

You can include the following in your discussion board post:
1. Do you have any experience studying through on-line lectures or seminars? How was it?
I studied MBA at Hanyang Cyber Graduate School. Classes were held not only in pre-recorded lectures, but also in real-time, both in real time, with faculty and students using headsets to ask questions from professors during classes. It was a way of overcoming the unilateral lesson in one way of online lecture.

2. Do you think the classroom in the cloud is a reality? Can it eventually replace the traditional schools?I do not think the classroom in the cloud is real. But I think we can eventually replace traditional schools.  This is because traditional classrooms seem difficult to overcome their innovation and creativity.
I experienced lectures that overcome the weaknesses of online lectures in graduate courses. I took the course I wanted perfectly without the time constraints and the time and expense of moving to a certain place.

3. What are some of the benefits/problems with "A classroom in the cloud?"
As mentioned, time and space limitations can be completely overcome and the costs can be reduced accordingly. However, it is hard to feel the feelings and solidarity that can be felt in traditional classrooms.

4. Did the website/video impress you? Why or why not?
I was most impressed with the Ted Talks video. In this video, Ted is accurately socializing and defining things that are already evolving from a pedagogical point of view into social phenomena.

1. How easy was it to use quizlet?
A: It was so easy for me and I think students can easily study English. In particular, it seems good to be able to make a vocabulary based on the teacher's intention.

2. Did you experiences any challenges in using the software?
A; There was no particular difficulty. However, I was worried about where I should focus on when there is a lot of meaning in one word.

3. What level did you decide to make the cards for? Why?
A; I focused on the process for beginners. The reason is that when I was young, it was difficult for me to speak English so that I could have opportunities for children to get to know more easily.

4. What topic did you choose for your cards? Why?
A;I put my focus on "study" on the cards I make. The reason is that the student's mission is to study first.

5. What did you think about the different functions? (Flashcards, Learn, Speller, Test)
A:It is very practical, and I think it will be very helpful for the teacher who makes the card and the students who study with it.

6. How can you incorporate this software into the classroom?
A;Before studying the text of the day, it is easier and easier for the students to learn the various words related to the topic at home by studying the card and then studying the text of the day.

What experiences you have using technology in general?
A few years ago, I was a early adapter. But now I am not interested in technology. I am busy living.
But, when I saw a smartphone first time,  I was shocked.
Because If  having a smartphone, Can do anything with internet, games, writing documents, watching TV, etc., regardless of the place and time.

What are some frustrations that you have when using technology?  My smartphone was infected with a malicious virus. I clicked on a strange character and it turned out
that way. I had to take emergency measures such as calling the bank. There was no frustrating day.

How does technology make your life better?  But smartphones have brought innovation to my life. I was able to do banking, company work, anytime and anywhere.

(How to use Android

Have you used technology as a learner or teacher? When I took an English class, The techer opened an internet band, it was nice to be able to communicate with the same people as I was able to
learn anywhere and anytime with my smartphone.

Do you have any fear of using technology?  I did not do it originally, but I'm scared because I'm getting older nowadays.

What are your hopes for his class?  I hope I can use it on the field well.
